Another Canadian on board here.
Hey all,
My name is Derek, I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba. I've always been a huge fan of Toyota trucks since my Dad bought a 1990 4runner about 8 years ago. But, like every Toyota, it appeared to be slowly rusting away to nothing. My dad finally gave up on it, so he passed it down to me after he purchased a 1996 4Runner limited. I still have tons of hope for the truck although it would be what most people consider a "parts truck". At any rate, I'm actually in love with my 1990. It was the first car/truck I ever drove in my life, and it's taught me quite a few things. Since I've been in ownership of it, I've replaced the clutch, redid all the front brakes, and miraculously, got my rear window working. In the meanwhile, I also picked up a 1985 Pickup SR5 to work on. And, since I'm quite confident everyone likes pictures around here, I'll show some.
My 1990 4runner with 177,000 km on it. 4 cylinder, 5 speed:
Those pictures was taken about two years ago. Let's just say 2 winters on top of the rust that was formed already didn't help it at all.

Recently, I've taken the running boards off, and cut out the rust on the quarter panels, welded new metal in, and then spread some bondo over it to smooth it all out. Here's the pasty white kid(me) working on it:

Here's my 1985 Pickup Xtracab, SR5, which I bought for 500 bucks with a motor that snapped the timing chain.(I'm gonna put it back together and see if I can get it running, if not, I'll pick up a motor from the local PNP):
